Thanks for coming back.
This post is about styling trousers in two different ways, dressed up and dressed down. Sometimes you just get sick of wearing jeans ya know? Keep in mind I live in Chicago where it gets to negative temperatures and the wind is so strong I once witnessed a little girl getting blown over on Michigan Ave.
Although none of that has to do with this post because on this particular day it was about 50 degrees and sunny. (For those not living in the midwest, that is basically bathing suit attire).
I wanted to share not only some simple outfits I created but also the INCREDIBLE photography skills of my friend Carter Whitaker. This man is mad talented and I will leave his info at the bottom of this post.
Disclaimer: I know these outfits are very basic but I wanted to start out on the more simple with these outfit posts. Something that is wearable and easy to recreate if desired.
Pop of Red
I love this outfit because there is almost no color being repeated. Each piece of clothing is a different color and texture yet it looks like it all still goes together. For example the scarf is maroon and the pants are more of a fire truck red but because of the other colors in the scarf and the fact that the sweater is inbetween them, you would never even notice. I think the different shades of red compliment each other nicely. Plus if they were they exact same red that would be way too matchy matchy.
Starring: The most basic item in your closet, a white turtleneck.
Top is from LuLus.com but I got it a million years ago so here is a similar one: https://goo.gl/rDserN
This coat may possibly be the best purchase I have ever made. It makes ANY outfit look put-together and makes the already good ones even better.
In blush but similar: https://goo.gl/ccSGB7
As for the scarf, this is from my favorite boutique in the world. (May be a little biased because I have worked there since it opened). This scarf in particular is sold out BUTTTT when fall comes around be sure to check out shopparkerjames.com for some of the best scarves ever.
Now for the star of the show, these red trousers. I have gotten way more use out of these than I thought I would. These straight legged, front pleat pants cinch at the waist for a more slimming and sophisticated look.
Finally found an exact match: https://goo.gl/5CbDRx
These shoes have quickly become a staple in my closet. This heel is the perfect height and the black studs make them edgy and interesting. They go with just about everything and are the comfiest pairs of heels I own. (Granted they are also the shortest pair).
These are crazy on sale so go snag em' https://goo.gl/vxwykW
Street Casual
This look is super simple but the pants add something a little different as opposed to my black jeans that I wear every single day of my life. I forgot to get a picture of me standing up so you could see them better but they are basically a pair of high-waisted, wide legged trousers. The cool thing is that there is a two buttons on the bottom so you are able to pull back the fabric to the second button for less of a wide legged effect. Leave them on the first button if you're feeling risky. I wear them with both sneakers and heels and they look great with pretty much all shoes.

And of course my Stan Smiths: https://goo.gl/NyNHXN
One of the comfiest and most versatile tops I own right now! I wear it all the time because it goes with everything.

I always get compliments on this jacket when I wear it because it is a different spin on your typical "denim jacket". It's denim but it is fitted like a bomber jacket.
And the exposed zipper is a unique touch.
